The interior is freshly renovated, the service is spectacular, and the portion sizes are generous. Overall, a fantastic experience. We ordered the spicy wontons, Shanghai-style pan-fried pork buns, and shrimp dumplings. Every dish was packed with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients. I'm already planning my next visit! ”
“ Some of the best Chinese food in the Sunset district. We ordered: - Shanghai-Style Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao - Shanghai-Style Stir-Fried Rice Cake - Wonton Noodle Soup - Eggplant with Garlic Sauce The food came out quickly, and the portions were generous. All of the stir-fried entrees had that wok flavor if you know what I mean. The wonton soup was comforting, and the XLBs were juicy and savory. I had no favorite entree because they were all so yummy. I'd ordered all of the dishes again. It was a scrumptious meal with great customer service. (e.g., I left my credit card on the table and one of the waiters ran two blocks to give it back to me!) ”
“ I've been wanting to come here for the longest time, since they're one of the few restaurants in SF that sell fantuan (sticky rice roll), but the one time I tried, they were really busy, and my schedule was inflexible, so I couldn't dine in. Finally, I got around to it! I ordered a fantuan as a starter and the Mongolian beef with rice dish. The fantuan was good as expected and satisfied the craving. The Mongolian beef entrée was quite tasty with very tender beef, and the portion was generous, so it was a great value. I really liked the food and atmosphere here and look forward to coming back. ”
“ Came here looking for a big bowl of sweet soy milk and Chinese donuts. ..... wasnt what I was expecting but everything else was spectacular! My boyfriend and I came around 2pm -- there were only a handful of guests left We got seated quickly and got the abalone and pork XLB, the spicy pig ears, wontons in chili oil, the Shanghai pan fried buns, the fried Chinese donut, and sweet soy milk. The sweet soy milk comes in a cup. When asked to put in the bowl, there were able to, but it was a bit lukewarm. Sad. The Chinese fried donut was soo good -- crispy and fluffy. I could not stop eating it. The XLB skin was so thin and the soup inside was delicious and flavorful. I think I can just get this and be satisfied. The pan fried buns were also good -- although it could be a tad more pan fried. There is not broth that comes out, like other places, but the meat is tender and juicy. The spicy pig ears were average, but ive been wanting them for awhile, so it satisfied a craving. And the wonton in chili oil was bombbb. they came hot and the sauce/broth it was sitting in was so delicious. Since I had asked for the sweet soy milk thats usually in a cup to be put in a bowl, the waiter had asked me if wanted to try the savory soy milk that comes in a bowl. I ordered it, and it was not my cup of tea. my boyfriend kind of liked it... it has a fermented mustard-green type taste, with a little bit of chili oil and bits of tofu flying around. Im sure other people liked it, but just not me. lol total was around $80 something. I would definitely come again if im in the area! ”
“ I've walked by this new dumpling spot for weeks and finally decided to give it a try! It's newly remodeled so everything is brand new and so modern in there! The food was great and fresh and the workers were nice and quick! We ordered XLB, black bean noodles, crab and pork XLB, the pan fried buns along with their walnut shrimp and wonton noodle (not pictured)! We also got their sweet and savory soy milk! Everything was so good and not overly sweet for the soy milk! I didn't have the wonton noodle but my friend mentioned that it was a tad bit too salty! Although it hasn't stopped them from going back as they been back at least once a week since! ”
“ Located along Noriega, there's usually plenty of parking, though it is mainly residential parking. Dumpling Bites offers Shanghainese food in the Sunset, and boasts a large variety. Overall, I would recommend for dinner if you're in the area but not a destination spot. We ordered the Xiao Long Bao, Sauteed String Bean, Mapo Tofu, Wonton in Chili Oil, Shanghai-Style Chow Mein, and Pan Fried Pork Bun. They were all decent, hitting all the right flavor notes but nothing unique or outstanding, but the one I was interested in the most (the sheng jian bao) was a bit of a let down. . Pan Fried Pork Bun: (3/5) Decent crispy bottom but not enough soup inside, and the breading was soggy as it was steamed a little too long. I think Dumpling Home does it better. ”
“ My new go to neighborhood dumpling spot. Ordered the crab and pork XLB, eggplant with garlic sauce over rice and deep fried salt and pepper squid. For a party of two this was a good amount of food. I love how you can order a dish over rice so you get best of both worlds (carbs and a veggie). Deep fried salt and pepper squid was super crunchy and had just the right amount of salt and pepper. XLB juicy and soup inside the dumpling was flavorful. The skin was thin and steamed to the right temperature. I also got the soy milk and asked for no sugar. 10/10!!! ”
